"Always a good bet, its so popular, phone first to book a table. You're normally lucky and get a table but its normally fully booked and you risk not getting a table and relocated to the bar or barrel tables but iv been lucky... you can't go wrong, just they need twice the amount of tables. The Guinness special is a real draw can for me but its all good, reasonably priced (please keep it that way) and their specials are very good value."

"Uncle Jim's Pub is a popular spot for the young and social crowd on the West Rand. I was a bit surprised by the price of a Castle Free—R40 for a pint feels a little steep. Service was decent. The waiter was friendly, though he wasn’t sure about the drink prices when I asked, which was a bit unexpected for such a busy venue. They’ve got a wide food menu, but I didn’t eat there, so I can’t comment on the meals or pricing. Getting there is easy, and there’s plenty of parking. The lot is enclosed and there’s a car guard on duty, which adds peace of mind. Final verdict: It’s got vibe, it’s got volume, and it’s got a loyal crowd—but your wallet might feel the hangover before you do."

"Oh my soul.. what a surprise didn't expect much (just being honest)..... But what an enjoyable meal indeed ..... Only let down was the "peri-peri" chicken "marinated " overnight... NOT! Tasteless after thought... sauce basted over cooked chicken and served sure was not what I expected .... neverless to say... Mushrooms were delightful Steak cooked to perfection Cous cous salad ... fresh ingredients, and what a pleasure indeed... Sauces tad bit over priced and not really the "right" taste Had the peppercorn sauce ... But everything else made up for that.. Inviting menu Well priced Clean and tidy bathrooms, and yes, this does make a difference.... Sure will be back soon!"

"Really loved our visit to Uncle Jim's first time round , the food , staff and atmosphere was superb. The food took awhile but well worth it , truly 5 star chefs preparing the meals. The Management did regular visiting to our table to ensure our meals and drinks were in order . Well Done and love the place."

"I have no bad things to say. Yes it was noisy, but it is a pub. We were a group of 8 people,ranging from 15 years to 86 years. They got the food out at the same time, all still hot (that never happens) Our food was cook to perfection Nothing was send back or got a bad comment around the table. Simon our waiter was wonderful with every one. He took into account the hard of hearing family members and made sure he went to them individually, go down to be eye level with them to explain the specials, 3 times if need be. To hear what they say. Just respect for the elderly. The next moment they brought the ice-cream out for the birthday boy and sang for him. (Something they don't normally do) I was most impresed by the presentation. Thank you to the whole time."
